Guardianship and Conservatorship

Proceedings involving guardianships and conservatorships are required by courts when a power of attorney has not been signed and a person is no longer able to make decisions or care for themselves. Oftentimes, only a guardian is needed to make decisions regarding the person’s care, custody and health; however, there are times when a conservator must be brought in to make decisions concerning assets and finances. Unfortunately, disagreements can arise between family members, further compounding the proceedings.

Our extensive probate experience allows us to handle all matters in these proceedings, including counseling and litigation, if necessary. It is imperative, for the good of the family, that the proper guardian and/or conservator are appointed. Our involvement can help bring about those desired outcomes.
